http://janson.com Villars alpine golf club in the Valais, south-west Switzerland, is located at 1600 metres above sea level. After a trip on a road which, for tourists, seems quite narrow, you arrive at the sunny terrace with its sensational view into the Valais Alps. From here, even in midsummer, you can look out over the eternal snows. The incredible panorama is, however, not the only reason why so many tourists regularly return to this spot. The terrain was extremely well undulated by the architect, Thierry Sprecher. You will find bunkers in the way all of a sudden, and the route leads over natural water hazards such as mountain streams.

http://janson.com Do you want to play golf on the oldest course in Switzerland? And the one most steeped in tradition? Then you must visit the Engadine. The course was founded in 1892 and was, at the time, the highest golf course in Europe. At 1800 meters above sea level, the 18 holes of the Samedan Golf course are the most alpine of all. Anybody standing on the terrace of the par 72 course is at first totally in awe of their surroundings. The panoramic view of the plateau of the Flaz brook in a unique mountain panorama will let you forget the real reason for being there. The flat course runs through meadows, succulent pastures and alongside secluded streams. The highest point is the elevated green on the 2nd hole. To find oneself at 1800 meters above sea level in the midst of a high mountain area, and still be able to play on what is possible the flattest golf course in Switzerland, is simply fascinating. The plateau is structured through larches, some as old as 700 years.
