If you are not sure if your clubs are the right length you should speak to your local pro and they will be able to advice you on your concerns.

For starters
Worst thing you can possibly do is try to compensate for clubs that are too short. You are only going to get more and more frustrated. I’m guessing the clubs you received are a store bought set not custom. Store bought golf clubs are made for Mens Standard Length. Which is perfect for a 5’8" male. The fact your previous set were one inch longer and you mention no problems with them makes me think you are between 5’10" and 6′ 0" … Correct?? If so you need to take them to your local pro or club maker and get yourself measured and have the clubs lengthened. Cost is approx $20 – $40 per club depending on who does it. But shop around.

IF YOU ARE 5’8" or thereabouts
Because you have been playing with longer clubs your body compensates without you really realising it. To go back to shorter clubs and try to adjust your swing to cater for this will only cause you massive frustration and possibly giving away the game. If you are mens standard length I would spend the dollars and lengthen the new clubs to match the old ones to preserve your sanity.

I had that problem too. No matter if change your stance, you will still have the problem. My dad point out last year that my clubs were shorter than his. I would steal some of clubs when we were playing and i was doing better. I got a new set and they are longer than his. I had the made longer when i bought them. 3-4 inches is between my old and new clubs. $60 -$100 will save a lot problems with hitting the ball and it also save a lot problems with body not having to adjust to hit the ball. I am 6'3" and with a shorter in the arms.
