How do stores that sell used golf balls clean them?

I was just wondering what products that places that make a living out of selling used Golf Balls use to clean them. I’ve tried putting mine the the washer/dishwasher and have even used hydrochloric acid to clean them and yes they do look nice, but none of them ever look brand new like the ones you can order from the stores. Anyone have any clue what they do?

These stores that sell played golf balls will not accept them if they are in too poor condition to be resold. They have the same cleaning abilities as you and I, they cannot perform miracles. They simply clean the lightly used balls and re-package.

Mostly good ol’ soap and water. Golfsmith, among other golf retailers, sells specialized "golf cleaning solutions", but it isn’t any better/worse than soapy water.
