Trying to find a good golf bag for dh?
I’ve never played golf, but my husband has gotten really into it these past few years. He needs a new Golf Bag, and his birthday is coming up so I want to get him one. How much do they cost if I want a good one? And do you have any reccomendations?
If he carries his bag and walks, get a stand bag. They run $100-200 and are very light, but a little on the small side. If he usually rides a cart or walks with a push cart, a cart or staff bag is the way to go. I would recommend a sun mountain cart bag for this. The c-130 is a great cart bag that costs about $180, but you might be able to find it a good bit cheaper online. If you do buy online, try to get it from a site that offers free shipping because they are not cheap to ship.

My wife got me a Great Divider cart bag for my birthday. It’s pretty cool- it has 14 slots (full-length so the shafts don’t catch together) plus an external putter gripper; two lined valuables pouches; more unlined pouches than I know what to do with; a self-draining "cool pouch"- just add ice and it keeps whatever you’re drinking nice and cold (better than any other kind for the four other bags I’ve owned). She got it at TGW.com for $50.
Ogio is another good brand. I’d look for older models, because the new ones run between $90-$180 or so. Sun Mountain also makes good bags, but I don’t know what they cost.
Does he walk or ride, mostly? Cart bags are heavier, and kind of cumbersome. Stand bags are lighter, and 99.9% nowadays come with a dual strap so carrying the bag is less taxing. If he’s a rider, either model would work… but if he’s a walker, definitely go for a stand bag.
