How To Source The Best in Ladies Golf Clubs
Attempting to source ladies golf clubs which are both practically and aesthetically designed for female players has until recent times proved difficult and expensive. If you’re a left-handed lady golfer the likelihood of finding a suitable set of golf clubs is even harder.
Lady golfers are unfortunately at a disadvantage in terms of suitable golf equipment in a sport that is predominately male orientated – therefore more equipment is designed and manufactured in relation to the size of the market.
Before manufacturers like Texan Classics, Confidence and Prosimmon Golf produced exclusive lines of ladies golf clubs, female players had to resort to purchasing junior or senior-flex Golf Equipment – although this is less likely in today’s market of online golf retailers like The Sports HQ offering a comprehensive range of ladies golf equipment in right and left-handed editions.
The physical differences between a male and female golfer leads to both genders having different requirements when it comes to selecting the perfect golf club. For example a stiff shafted golf club would be less suitable for lady golfer, whilst a club that is too flexible is not likely to match a typical lady’s Golf Swing. A lighter golf club with a graphite shaft is far more likely to produce the best results for lady golfer, unlike a stainless steel shaft with a heavier club-head which can lead to a slight loss of control. The actual golf club length is also important as lady players are typically shorter than their male counterparts and therefore 1-inch shorter clubs are the perfect solution. Before purchasing a set of ladies golf clubs it is recommended to view and sample the clubs in person. In the case of an online purchase it is also advisable to search for a retailer that offers a means to sample the clubs in person – The Sports HQ can offer this service on all items available for sale on its website – www.thesportshq.com
The custom fit option is another way to purchase a set of ladies golf clubs. The recent appearance of Internet based custom fit suppliers has increased accessibility to the benefits of custom fit golf clubs for both sexes. After starting out in golf with a beginner’s set of ladies Golf Clubs the easiest way to improve your game is to invest in custom built golf clubs which are designed and built to the exact criteria of the player. Unlike some suppliers of custom fit golf clubs – Forgan of St. Andrews does not charge extra for custom fitting ladies’ golf clubs. Forgan’s custom fit website automatically selects the optimum flex, shaft type, length adjustment and type of grip after entering the following attributes: sex, dexterity, height, wrist-to-floor length, swing speed and glove size. The benefits of custom fitting – especially for female golfers are indisputable.
Finding the best ladies golf clubs was historically a difficult task before online retailers like The Sports HQ developed exclusive ranges for lady golfers. Exclusive brands like Prosimmon Golf, GolfGirl and Confidence offer specifically designed and manufactured golf equipment for the female player. To progress from a beginner’s set of ladies golf clubs a player should consider the benefits of custom fitted golf clubs – with manufacturers like Forgan of St. Andrews offering customised ladies golf equipment from their websites www.forgan.co.uk and www.forgangolf.com

We’ve all found ourselves criticising our shots and swings for our performance at one stage in the past – no matter how much time and effort you invest in perfecting your golf shots – you’ll never achieve your ultimate targets if you’re using unsuitable or substandard Golf Clubs.
If you intend to purchase or receive a set of used golf clubs be sure to inspect them closely. Club-heads and shafts must show no sign of neglect from its previous owner – natural signs of wear can be expected on the grip. If purchasing a used set of from an online advertisement – don’t be afraid to request emailed confirmation of the exact contents of the golf set.
More importantly research the Internet using shopping comparison websites like pricegrabber.co.uk, nextag.co.uk and shop.com for the latest prices on new golf club sets. The cost of purchasing a brand new golf set can be more cost-effective than acquiring golf clubs individually from various sources – where the addition of postage is charged per club. If you’re a beginner the purchase of a new set of clubs will provide a degree of consistency and confidence – for example, the Chicago SGS golf set for beginners can be purchased in many variations including 1″ shorter, ladies and men’s editions – each set of clubs offering the optimal match in terms of shaft length and flex. Texan Classics produce a hybrid golf set in 1″ taller (6′ 1″+ over) and 1″ shorter (for players under 5′ 6″) editions. Both brands can offer a complete set of 14 golf clubs with stand bag for under £90.
Custom fitted golf clubs can offer the most practical solution in finding the best golf clubs to match an individual’s unique characteristics. Online custom fitting is the latest revolution to hit the golf industry with manufacturers like Forgan of St. Andrews – the world’s oldest golf brand, offering one of the most easy-to-use custom fit services. A player simply enters the following details: gender, dexterity, height, floor to wrist height, glove size and swing speed; the website then calculates which golf clubs are best suited to their game from shaft flex to lie adjustments.
The type of golf club shaft can also help in predicting how well a player will progress in their game. Graphite and steel shafted golf clubs each possess their own characteristics – steel shafts have always been considered to be more durable than graphite for example; like all Golf Equipment the key is to try out both kinds to determine which type best fits your swing. Graphite being a lighter material to steel can produce an extra 6-12 yards of distance. Steel shafts are typically recommended for players of a mid to low handicap. Graphite shafts are therefore better suited to ladies, junior and senior players – with varying degrees of flex to match the individual characteristics of each swing type. Given the increasing popularity and demand for graphite shafts – prices are typically higher compared to steel shafts.
Online retailers offer the lowest prices on graphite and steel shafted golf clubs. The Sports HQ for example supplies graphite shafted drivers from £6.99 and complete all-graphite golf sets with bag from £89.99. Junior golf sets with graphite shafts can also be purchased from £29.99.

I want to get my boyfriend Golf Clubs for our anniversary but I have no idea what to get him, his dad passed away and he uses his old Callway clubs but he is always talking about how he wants new ones. I always pay attention when he looks at golf clubs and he said he really likes PING or Callaway and he wants hybrids? I would like to get him a set with a bag and everything if possible 600 or less. Any help!? Links would be great too
i would rather you let him try the clubs first. you should tell him what you want to do and let figure out if he wants to put money in and get what he wants.
