Also, a LOT of them have numbers on them. Like 1-8 I suppose.

Don’t know if that makes a difference.

Thanks guys. Sports values aren’t really my thing, I appreciate it.

Several of the courses in my area will allow people to sale Golf Balls at designated tee boxes. Most of them use empty egg containers and sale the balls by the dozen. Similar balls together. If they look clean and no cuts, your Top-Flite’s may bring $2 to 4$ a dozen. The Titleist’s are a little more tricky. You need to look for any that say "PRO V" or "PRO V1", these balls cleaned up may get you $4 to $6 a dozen. Calloways and Taylor Made balls will also bring in a little more than the Top Flite’s. Again make sure you group your balls together for sale. Very few people would want to buy balls they don’t normally play. Good Luck

My dog is a border collie (sheepdog) 1 year old. I go over to my local golf course looking for Golf Balls and he he has learned from watching me that it’s golf balls I’m looking for. What he does now is he would be walking along and then out of nowhere he jumps into a bush and comes out with a golf ball in his mouth! He finds about 6 or 7 every time I go out. I’m just wondering how does he know they are there?! Because the bushes are so dense it’s impossible to see into them!

Border Collies are extremely intelligent dogs and learn very quickly. He is doing it by scent, the balls are handled by people, people have unique but similar scents, and he has associated golf balls as a way of getting praise from you.

I will bet you scratch his ears and make a big deal out of it when he finds one. If so, you are giving him exactly what you want.

Border collies are one of the smartest dogs I have meet and I love training them.

One guy asked me if the Golf Balls were refurbished or were they lake balls? What do I say?

He also said he doesn’t want recoated ones, what does that mean too?

Refurbished means they have been recovered, and possibly buffed and remarked. Lake balls are straight out of the lake, nothing special.

Never heard of balls being recoated. Another coat would push the balls diameter beyond the standard and make it fly shorter. and not to mention surlyn or urethane are expensive.

Wondering what to get your golf fanatic this holiday? Companies are always catering to the special needs of golfers, so instead of giving a silly present like a singing golf tee, why not get your duffer a gift they can actually enjoy the next time they hit the links?

Even small golf gadgets, can be expensive if you’re not sure what you’re buying. Presented below are five gift ideas you can use to fill any golfer’s neatly hung stocking this year. Best of all, they’re each under $50.

Are you sick of seeing your golfer’s clubs piled in the bathroom or kitchen as they try to remove the evidence of their flubs from the face of their clubs? How about a groove cleaner for his or her clubs? A club cleaning product that removes grass and dirt from the grooves would be the perfect match. The Groove Doctor is only $14.95.

Brush tees will cost you less than $10 for a three-pack and are a great addition to any golfer’s stash of stocking gifts. Unlike wooden or plastic golf tees, a brush tee mimics the natural lie a golfer gets when he lands on some premium grass in the middle of the fairway.

Is the golfer in your home always complaining about not being able to tell how far the pin is from the airway? A digital golf range finder sells for about $35.00 and is tiny enough to wrap and stick in any stocking. Sometimes there isn’t a marker anywhere near, and a range finder is the ticket to a golfer’s good green fortune.

If your golfing enthusiast heads off to the course before the sun rises and never makes it home before the sun sets, then you might want to getting them a set of Twilight Tracer Balls. Tracer balls flash with a red blinking light for five minutes after they’re hit, allowing the golfer to easily follow its path and finish up the game before they’re forced to pick up play and call it a day. Tracer balls sell for less than $35.00 per pack, which includes three balls each.

Or how about a set of personalized premium Golf Balls? You can get a set of a dozen Titleist balls emblazoned with the golfer’s name on it for under $30 per pack. Titleist is the number one ball in play, but there are other brands you can get even cheaper.

Golfers love anything that has to do with their sport, but many have had enough with double-decker beer hats and trick tees that don’t contribute to the betterment of their game, so this year, surprise him with something he’ll wear out because he love sit so much.

The golf backspin can change the flow of your game and thus, you need to play this shot at right time. Apart from right time, you should also be aware of the right place, from where a backspin can act like a rewarding shot for you. If all the factors governing a backspin are taken into consideration, you can easily move your ball near to the target. Here are few factors, which can affect and improve your golf backspin.

Irons and Wedges for Backspin

The novice golfers make the mistake of choosing long irons and wedges for playing the backspin. In reality, the short iron and wedges can help you play a perfect backspin and place your ball at your intended place. Thus, you need to take the help of experts in selecting the right length of these golf playing equipments.

Type of Green Surface

The type of green surface, from where you want to play the backspin, also plays critical role in deciding the worth of your shot. A soft surface will allow your ball to display a magic spin after backspin shot is played. On the other hand, a rough surface will put restriction on your backspin playing capabilities. Thus, make sure you play backspin, when your ball is lying on a desirable surface.

Golf Balls Can Define the Backspin

The golf balls are indeed the most crucial component of playing a successful backspin. Here are few advices to make the correct selection of a golf ball:

In order to achieve high spin, you should opt for a soft covered golf ball. These balls can help you obtain high scores and a perfect backspin. The soft cover is designed using ingredients like Surlyn and shear-resistant polymer, which are perfect for playing different types of shots.

The golf ball, which can travel long distances and offer high durability are best opted by the golf players for backspins and other types of shots as well.

Thus, you can improve your low score in the game by saving the backspin shots for appropriate positions and timings. Practice more of these shots and use tips mentioned above to become a professional back spinner.

This topic have been on every golfer’s mind. Seriously, distance is a problem or rather LACKING of distance is THE problem. Sorry for shouting but i just want to emphasize how important this crucial step is. Many people make mistakes over here and never get to see their game improve because they plunge straight without knowing what golf ball suits their game.

There are two methods of choosing a long distance golf ball.

1. Buy, play, choose and analyze method (BPCA) – I call this method the BPCA method as golfers purchase a particular brand and model after hearing some recommendations and start playing with them and doing test shots at different yardage. After analyzing the problem, they select another golf ball to improve it from practice.

2. Read, understand, buy and tweak method (RUBT) – I call this method the RUBT method because you do the selection process first through information and knowledge before selecting the right golf ball. Less testing is involved but trial games with it will be done.

I personally recommend the RUBT method because of two reasons.

1. You save money buying and trying loads of long distance golf balls before finding the right one.

2. You learn the technical aspect of choosing the best golf ball for your needs when you further advance your skills.

I would say 50% of the recreational golfers fall within the third category – not knowing what they are buying or choosing and using instinct and feel when they play the golf ball.

As the methods and materials of making the long distance Golf Balls vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, you can expect a difficult time in knowing everything on hand. The good side is that while new types of materials and techniques are being researched and developed, the method of choosing remains relatively the same as before.

Here is how to choose a good long distance golf ball.

Distance golf balls over here are golf balls that are focused primarily on increasing your distance off the tee through various approach.

1. More carry and less roll

2. Less carry and more roll

Both methods are able to achieve the distance but it is a matter of preference of play which i will not touch on here.

Use the 8 step procedure below

Take a look at the cover – Check for the type of material and material thickness. Majority of the manufacturers will advertise as soft cover but in reality, it feels hard like a rock as compared to the Balata wound ball.

Determine the type of play you want to go for – All golfers have their own style of play and that is what make each golfer unique. A golf ball works well for some and does not perform for others. Find the balance by first knowing how you would want to approach the game. It is basically a strategic game on the field.

Know your player profile – Get to know your own characteristic. An important aspect is the swing speed. You can measure using equipment sensors that can be bought off any online store.

Understand the core – The core is basically the engine of the golf ball. The heart and soul of the golf ball which determines the launch angle, velocity, spin rate, side spin etc the moment your driver hits the golf ball.

Read the aerodynamics design – Any model will come with a description of the aerodynamics design and what the dimples offer for the golf ball flight and trajectory. The dimples help to create lift and spin naturally unless you create forward spin or back spin on purpose to control the ball game.

Choose and match – If you are going for maximum distance through carry, a harder golf ball cover with a more resilient core should do the trick. That should compliment with a good swing speed of 100mph to get the maximum distance out of it.

Additional Characteristic – Certain manufacturers add in characteristics that are intended to reduce spin off the driver which is essential for an amateur who just started golf. Ensure that you choose the one to correct the problem that you are facing.

Purchase your selection – You can purchase your long distance golf ball off any online store. Online stores are the best destination and source where all the golfing needs can be found easily.

This is just a mini guide that i have provided and the full guide that is found on my website is guaranteed to help you increase your chances of purchasing the correct golf ball for you by 90%.

Remember that knowing is better than not knowing and use your knowledge to help you lower your handicap without spending too much. Put them into practice and it should do the trick!

We all know that golf ball speed is an important aspect of golf ball distance. It does not take a physics wizard to realize the relationship between them. Driving distance, swing speeds, golf ball velocity, advanced technology, we all know them. They are all geared to get your golf ball an inch closer to the pin. What does that mean? Yes, a chance for you to lower your golf score.

While Tiger Woods have been pumping irons in the gym and Annika doing swing training to improve the power off the club face, they all know the importance of it. But as far as golf ball technology is concerned, it no longer is the same old thinking of harder compression for longer distance.

Truthfully speaking, Coefficient of Restitution or C.O.R of golf balls have been increasing and making Golf Balls more resilient and produce more distance than ever. Getting it hard and fast will add additional speed and distance but you still have to depend on your technique, the golf ball materials and such to produce a further distance.

If we were to take a closer look, the capability of golf balls to not just depend too much on speed to deliver distance came some time back when the solid golf balls began to dominate.

Yes, it would be wonderful to see your tee shots zoom past others and go down at break necking speeds. I would love mine to do that too. Technology have made it such that lower swing speed players can deliver outstanding distances despite having lack of swing speed by playing with the factors like compression, resilient and hardness.

No matter how much technology can offer us, we still got to realize and salute the well drilled golfing machines that bring the speed out of the golf balls. They can generate and control the distance and level the playing field any time.

You maybe able to generate amazing distance but if you do not know how to control them, it would be pointless as the game goes. Experience will tell you that not every hole is played the same way. There are many different approaches that you can bring to make the game more lively.

Let us not just concentrate on golf ball speed. Technology have given us a chance to keep up with the pros but it is still the skills that we have in us and the fitness to out run the 18 holed race.
